31/01/2012 - Thursday 8th March: Bridget Hayden, Total Lizard, Phantom Heron Seas & Dead Wood Duo

Bridget Hayden

Last seen playing in the formidable Vibracathedral Orchestra, Bridget solo is a very different actuation; cycling guitar refrains, reverberant feedback and haunted vocals break through the distorted surface to reveal a form similar in structure to various points on the blues lineage being slowly smothered by envelopes of magnetic saturation.

Total Lizard

Debut performance by Jefferson Toblerone's new solo project. Conceived under a backdrop of blue based neon lit mountains; hyper distorted 3 chord new/no wave, submerged drum machine head nod hip thrust and grandiose Nosferatu (Herzog) atmosphere all wrapped up in the feedback signal paths of his former projects; Sunshine Republic, Alpine Lager and Golden Oaks Three Billion.

Phantom Heron Seas & Dead Wood Duo

Oscillating textural harmonics of small objects set into movement and mixed with additive waveform multiplication. Also known as the minds behind the Dead Sea Liner and Dirty Demos labels.

Thursday 8th March, The Winchester (Vault), 39 Poole Hill, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH2 5PW. Doors at 8, 5 pounds entry.

12/02/2011 - Sunday 3rd April: Eli Keszler, Directorsound and Dead Wood

Eli Keszler

To see Eli Keszler play live is something pretty special, hearing what sounds like a minimum of a drums/electronics duo coming form one guy behind an acoustic drum kit is a jaw dropping experience. Bowed cymbal harmonics, drum shell resonances and the micro textural clatter of crotales vibrating on skins which are controlled via the amazing energy pulses of Eli's stunningly fluid technique. Having already created an impressive discography of releases on his own Rel imprint amongst many other labels including a new LP on the legendary ESP-Disk, he has also collaborated with the likes of Phill Niblock, Loren Connors, Jandek, Roscoe Mitchell, Greg Kelley and plays in the bands Red Horse and Aster.

Directorsound

If that Short Circuit robot dude was actually one of those old Victorian calliopes and programmed its self by reading books on the Worlds folk music it might sound like a mechanical Nicholas Palmer. A room full of acoustic folk instruments and a mind full of techniques rearranged through the Dorset county fair filter.

Dead Wood

I don't know what's in your shed, a hammer or something right? This guys shed! Seriously this guys got a SOUND SHED RESEARCH FACILITY enabling him deep studies into the resonant properties of objects and the de/reconstruction of audio using every signal path and manipulation idea that comes to mind/hand. Expect some totally zoned parabolic drone action from the man behind the Dirty Demo's label.

Sunday 3rd April, The Winchester (Vault), 39 Poole Hill, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH2 5PW. Doors at 8, 5 pounds entry.

06/01/2011 - Thursday 10h February: Our Love Will Destroy the World, Cat Lady and Yaaard

Krayon / Reckno interfacing systems present:

Our Love Will Destroy the World

I'm not really sure what to expect from this ex Birchville Cat Motel man Campbell Kneale, his new project OLWDTW has spread his sound expertly thick across a slew of releases since its conception a couple of years back. I'd imagine he'll turn up with a stack of effects pedals, a microphone and seemingly pick magic out of thin air. Opening the sky with luminous rain drops of tone refraction and staggering flourish of feedback thunder & lightning, where the point of convergence is so beautiful it will melt your very heart with beams of luminous Sun light brain blister... only to awaken in a room populated largely by bearded males listening to some lunk from New Zealand gabbling in't microphones.

Cat Lady

Debut performance from the newly formed duo of Matthew Shaw (Tex La Homa / Apollolaan) & Michael Tanner (Plinth). Sleep sound narration of deep space visions via slow burning swells of frequency interaction and resonant plumes of bowed strings.

Yaaard

Reckno masterminds karaoke project. Singing melodies sweeter than the most caramelized True Swamp Nelgect moment to a computer that hasn't even got a RAM or something, its only involvement is as some sort of nucleus to the massive sponge of almost impeccable taste that is the mind of sir Christopher Catlin. Currently riding high on the blogger payroll, but the thing you've got to know about Yaaard is he can't stop pulling aces! Each new track is a step higher to pop nirvana and you've not even thanked him yet.

Thursday 10th February, Bumbles (Night Club of Dreams), 45 Poole Hill, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH2 5PW. Doors at 8, 5 pounds entry.

01/10/2010 - Sunday 31st October: KRAAK

Sylvester Anfang II

7 piece Belgian ceremonial, robe-adorned freak folk wig outs. Massive intertwined guitar blast, higher vision keyboard esoterica, zoned wah overdrive and spiralling percussion fall out from the motorik drum cluster. Releases on Aurora Borealis, Kraak, Blackest Rainbow and Sloow to name a few.

Ignatz

Brussels based artist Bram Devens alto ego Ignatz; Acoustic folk songs smudged by bleary eyed effects and spontaneous improvisation. Released on Goaty Tapes, Celebrate Psi Phenomenon, New Age Cassettes, Kraak, Bread & Animals, Not Not Fun, Scumbag Relations and Bennifer Editions.

Hellvete

Haunting guitar and wind instruments swell around a Kosmische keyboard root, distant percussion and voice mantras rise and fall from the surface tangling into a bed of effected feedback, clatter and guitar spirit wailing: Perfect Halloween soundtrack.

Bear Bones, Lay Low

Venezuelan born Ernesto Gonzalez's trance inducing loops transmit floating space tone day trips into fuzzed out feedback and scorched vocal horizons. Releases on Gipsy Sphinx and Kraak.

Andrew Perry / Dead Wood

Debut gig form these mixing desk swingers. Feedback wigging at the saliva swamp, parabolic pedal tweaking and larynx contorting mouth pressure condense into frozen prisms of eternal sustain. Featuring members of Sunshine Republic, Dirty Demos and No Context.
